Employee of the year

Being raised in Yorkshire, England I learned the value of giving 150% to everything you do from an early age. You could say my life peaked at 17 when I was awarded ‘McDonalds Employee of the Year’.

My Grandad was a wool sorter at a local mill his entire life. I’ll tell you now that supporting great startups to scale is never going to come remotely close to the ‘hard shift’ he had to put in but I’m certain that my values of loyalty, resilience & hard work are the same as that of one, William Waterhouse.

All the gear and no idea

There wasn’t a sport I didn’t play as a child. ‘All the gear and no idea’ comes to mind but rugby would eventually take priority and I’ve been lucky enough to see the world playing the sport I loved.

I was never the person that scored all the points. I was never the strongest or the fastest but I do believe that my former teammates would point to my relentless endurance and commitment to being the first in to every tackle and to being a leader for our defense every single week.
